What is a Pip in Forex Trading?
A pip (percentage in point) is the smallest price movement in forex trading. For most currency pairs like EUR/USD and GBP/USD, a pip is the fourth decimal place (0.0001). For pairs involving the Japanese Yen (JPY), a pip is the second decimal place (0.01).
How to Calculate Pip Value
The pip value depends on your position size and the currency pair you're trading. For pairs where USD is the quote currency (like EUR/USD), the pip value is straightforward: $10 per standard lot, $1 per mini lot, and $0.10 per micro lot.
